Fly motion has a few different names. Those include Jet, Zoom, and Rocket. They all mean the same thing, but have different names in different systems. The motion entials a receiver coming across the formation at the snap. If it is designated as a “Fly Sweep” or “Jet Sweep“, that means the man in motion is getting the ball.
Motion across the formation offers a lot of benefits for the offense. They can use the motion to change formational strength, gain leverage, and force the defense to adjust on the fly. It can cause communication issues and create opportunities for the offense on the edge of the defense or away from flowing players.
